The Philippines continues to make great strides towards becoming the stable and sustainable society it aspires to be, and the launch of the National Cybersecurity Plan for 2022 has marked another leap towards this national transformation. With the recognition that the rapid technological change is no longer a trivial matter, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has come to acknowledge and address the high stakes that come with the growing dependency on technology.
In partnership with AMTI, DICT hosted the Unveiling of the National Cybersecurity Plan 2022 last May 2, 2017 at the Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, Libis, Quezon City. The event was attended by the following industries:
- NGAs
- The academe
- BPOs
- Banks
- Telecoms
- Utilities (energy and water)
- Other private businesses
Aside from the launch of the plan, the event also featured the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the DICT and EC-Council, with AMTI’s President Mr. Allyxon Cua as one of the witnesses thereof.
As the launch of the National Cybersecurity Plan 2022 seeks to open doors to a more secure, more resilient, and more developed ICT sector in the Philippines, AMTI extends its full support to this mandate by educating their people not only within the workplace, but also in their homes and communities. By taking this first step in instilling cybersecurity consciousness in every Filipino, AMTI is able to contribute to nation-building through the fight against cyberthreats and cybercrimes.
