MANILA—For small and medium enterprises (SMEs) adapting to a digital generation that uses the Internet everyday in order to stay connected, make purchases, and manage their daily lives, building an e-commerce website is key to both surviving and winning big in the new economy. With this, the Ureka Forum was designed by UnionBank and its consortium partners to help these enterprises grow their businesses beyond their targets.

With a successful kick-off at Baguio City in 2015 followed by the Iloilo and Davao installments, the fourth leg of the Ureka Forum has made its way to the Philippines’ biggest business district last February 25, 2017. Some of the country's most notable thought leaders and business experts came together to expound on the idea of the Internet as a necessary but often under-utilized marketing and sales tool that businessmen must take advantage of. One of the speakers was Mr. Josefino “Bong” Paloma, AMTI’s SVP and General Manager for ICT Solutions. Mr. Paloma helped the SMEs explore the immense growth possibilities that technology has to offer to their businesses, starting with today’s most common technological device: the smartphone.

Aside from the discussion on how to start and develop their e-commerce ecosystem, the other highlight of the event was a workshop called the “e-commerce circuit” which enabled the SMEs to actually take their businesses online within the same day through a 10-step procedure.

For the fourth time, AMTI came in as the event’s official technology partner by providing the laptops used at the e-commerce circuit area. AMTI has also partnered with Dell EMC in featuring ICT hardware such as Dell Latitude, Dell Precision, and Dell Optiplex at the consortium booth.
